Changelog 0.3.0
Added
- Press Y to fit the y-axis of every row to the data in the visible x range (the x-axis stays as it is).
- New “MDF Time Axis” setting (Settings → Signals): load MDF files in “Seconds from start” (default, as before) or “Date/time”.
- New operation “Align Start to Zero”: start the x-axis at 0 s (seconds from start instead of date/time), so recordings made at different times overlay. Works on signals and on whole data sources.
Changed
- Replacing a data source now shows the loading overlay while the new file opens and can be cancelled; the old source stays untouched until the new file has loaded.
- When a signal is replotted (e.g. after adding an operation), plotted into an existing row or moved to another row, that row’s y-axis now fits to the visible x range instead of the whole signal.
- The mouse wheel no longer changes dropdowns or number fields – it scrolls the dialog or panel instead, so values aren’t changed by accident while scrolling.
- Time-stamped signals from different measurements are now combined by their real date and time.
- Concatenate with “absolute” alignment places time-stamped files at their real time (previously they all started at 0). “Seamless” concatenation shows seconds, since the joined timeline is no longer real calendar time.
- A data source now has one common time reference: CSV/Excel files with several time columns and .h5 sources holding signals from different measurements line up their channels in real time, so cropping or shifting the whole source cuts the same time window on every channel.
- A plot that mixes time-stamped and other signals now shows every signal on its own x-axis (exactly how operations combine them) instead of aligning only the time-stamped ones by date.
- AI: on plots with a date axis the AI reads and sets cursor, range and view as dates/times, and can measure signals of several measurements over one time range.
Fixed
- Removing a row (or undoing its removal) no longer resets the y-axis zoom of the rows below it.
- Concatenated sources, segments and duplicates made from a CSV/Excel file now use the time column chosen at import instead of the auto-detected one.
- Cancelling “Loading data sources” now stops right away, also in the middle of a file, instead of after the current file.
- Metrics pinned to the signal tree and the metrics panel now evaluate the selected range at the right time for signals from a different measurement than the first one in the plot.
- Saving an .h5 data source no longer drops the time base of XY signals – after reloading, the cursor works on them again.
- Colour by Channel (Add Z-Axis) could fail with an error when creating the new signal.
- Cursor and range values in the signal tree can now be read at full precision: hover a signal to see the exact value in the tooltip.
- Crash when clicking the project menu button several times in quick succession.
- Crash on Windows that could occur a moment after closing a plot, or when using the AI chat for the first time – caused by graphics resources being released at the wrong time.
Improved
- Measurement files on a network drive are now loaded faster and with a progress information.
